Matt Jones was the former uber-talented quarterback of the University of Arkansas who intrigued NFL teams of his potential at wide receiver after running the 40 yard dash in under 4.4 seconds. That led the Jacksonville Jaguars to take the gamble of selecting Jones with the 21st pick of the 2005 NFL Draft. But there were rumors prior to the draft that Jones was someone who had dalliances with using “illicit substances,” and those rumors proved to be true in the long-term.

During his final NFL season in 2008, Jones was suspended for violation of the league’s substance abuse policy. After that suspension, he never played another game in the NFL.
