Being an NFL quarterback is one of the hardest jobs in all of professional sports. You are often counted on to lead the team, franchise, and even the city to victory week in and week out. The rewards are great; fame, fortune, and adoration. If it doesn’t go well though, the downside to being a professional quarterback can be just as great; the boos, the hate, the heckling in the coffee shop Monday morning as you get your cup of joe.
We’ve decided to take a look at those guys, the guys who just plain sucked. We’ve put together this list with a different perspective though. Sure, the worst NFL quarterback in history is a guy you probably never saw take the field because he was that bad. Instead, we’re taking a look at guys who were supposed to be great, or at least good. In some instances, guys made the list because of who they were drafted ahead of. Whoever they were, they didn’t get the job done.
Take a look and see if any of these guys played for your team.
Incredibly, the quarterback from Hofstra didn’t work out in the NFL. The 49ers took Carmazzi in the third round of the 2000 NFL Draft, the same draft in which fellow Cali native Tom Brady was drafted 3 rounds later.
Carmazzi was on the roster for two years and never saw the field. What a waste of a pick. Just to reiterate: drafted ahead of Tom Brady but never saw the field. These days Carmazzi is a California goat farmer. No joke.
