It’s funny how things end up working out in the end, sometimes. During the 2003 NFL Draft, the Baltimore Ravens and Minnesota Vikings agreed to a draft pick swap, with the Ravens trying to move up to grab quarterback Byron Leftwich. But because of a delay in getting the trade processed, the Jacksonville Jaguars selected Leftwich, and the Ravens “settled” for defensive end Terrell Suggs out of Arizona State University. 15 seasons later, Suggs now holds the Baltimore franchise records for most career sacks (124) and most career forced fumbles (29). Suggs is actually among the top 20 players all time in total quarterback sacks, and could surpass legends like Derrick Thomas and Lawrence Taylor in 2018.
