Expectations were massive when the Raiders drafted Joseph in 2016. He was expected to become a cornerstone on their defensive for many years to come. But fast forward a few years, and the Raiders are one of the worst defensive teams in the NFL because players like Joseph haven’t lived up to expectations.

For what it’s worth, Joseph is far from the worst safety in the league. But for a safety to be picked in the first half of the 1st Round, he needs to be a game-changer, and Joseph hasn’t been that. By those standards, he’s turning into a bust, which is why the Raiders declined his 2020 option.
