Beno Udrih, Spurs (2005, 2007)
Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, Manu Ginobili and Beno Udrih… Which one of those names doesn’t fit? If you’re trying to be nice, you could point out the fact that Beno Udrih was not only a first round pick in the 2004 NBA Draft, he then spent the next 14 seasons playing in the NBA. Of course, if you’re being honest, you could point to the fact that, during those 14 years, barely any of even the most hardcore NBA fans even knew he was in the league.
Still, Udrih is another “right place at the right time” type of player, considering he won two NBA championships with the San Antonio Spurs: one in the year he was drafted (the 2004-2005 season), and then the next a couple of seasons later (the 2006-2007 season). Although he contributed very little to those two titles (80 points in 29 games) those two rings helped Udrih sign a five-year deal with the Sacramento Kings in 2007.
