Most of us will remember Timofey Mozgov as the guy who was on the wrong end of one of the most brutal “posterizations” in NBA history, at the hands of former Los Angeles Clippers’ forward Blake Griffin. But when the Cleveland Cavaliers were gearing up for a title run during the 2015-2016 season, they traded away two first-round picks to acquire Mozgov, (inexplicably) thinking he was a critical piece to a potential title run. After barely getting any playing time during the NBA playoffs, alongside teammate Sasha Kaun, Mozgov was one of the first Russian-born players to ever win an NBA championship.
