Brown was one of the more vocal members of the Texans when owner Bob McNair made his egregious “inmates running the prison” comment. In fact, Brown nearly organized a walk out of a team practice over the comments. That created a rift between Brown and the Texans that ultimately ended with Brown being traded to the Seahawks in October 2017. McNair allowed his politics and personal feelings get in the way, causing the Texans to lose a longtime cornerstone of the franchise. Meanwhile, Brown went to the Pro Bowl in 2017 as a member of the Seahawks and then signed an extension with Seattle.
