For two years, the Cowboys tried to trade for Williams. Partway through the 2008 season, they finally made it happen, giving the Lions a first-round pick, third-round pick, and six-round pick. But when he got to Dallas, things with Williams just never worked out. He couldn’t do much in his first year and a half with the Cowboys despite teams focusing on Terrell Owens. Ultimately, he was passed by both Miles Austin and Dez Bryant and released prior to the 2011 season with so much hope and promise unfulfilled.
