Dolphins Trade Wes Welker to Patriots

Welker caught 96 passes for a little over 1,100 yards for Miami over the 2005 and 2006 seasons. He was productive but nothing special, so Miami traded him to the Patriots for a second-round and seventh-round pick. The rest, as they say, is history. Welker spent six years in New England, almost immediately become a superstar who caught at least 111 passes in five of those six seasons. Surprisingly, Welker never earned a Super Bowl ring during that time, but the Patriots definitely got the better of that trade, especially since the Dolphins had to defend Welker twice a year.
