During the Week 13 game of the 2017 NFL season, when his Indianapolis Colts lost to the Jacksonville Jaguars, running back Frank Gore moved into fifth place on the NFL’s career rushing-yardage list — ahead of Hall of Fame running backs LaDainian Tomlinson and Jerome Bettis. For nine straight seasons, between 2006 and 2014, Gore averaged at least 4.1 yards per carry every year, and had more than a thousand yards rushing in eight of those nine years. But after joining the Colts, Gore’s averaged has dropped to below four yards a carry, and has only had one thousand-yard season since.
