Between 2002 and 2010, defensive end Dwight Freeney was one of the most feared pass rushers in the NFL. In his first nine seasons in the league, he had 94 sacks and 43 forced fumbles. His burst off the line was absolutely uncanny, and his spin move left opposing linemen absolutely helpless. But after the 2011 season, Freeney has never had more than eight sacks in a given year. He’s bounced around four teams over the past five seasons, as teams still value his ability as a designated pass rusher. But he’s no longer able to be a four-down player for anyone.
