Buffalo Bills teammate Fred Smerlas once said of Bruce Smith: “There are good players, very good players, great players, exceptional players and ridiculous players. Bruce is a ridiculous player.” Smith was the centerpiece of a Buffalo Bills defense in the early 1990’s that got somewhat overshadowed because of the K-Gun offense on the other side of the football. But, Smith’s ability to hunt quarterbacks from any spot along the defensive line made him one of the most feared — and successful — pass rushers of his era. With 200 career sacks, no player in NFL history has felled more quarterbacks than Bruce Smith.
