Bonus/Honorable Mention: Sean Taylor

The hits that the late Sean Taylor used to lay on opponents were straight out of a video game. How about hitting Florida State wide receiver P. K. Sam so hard that it turned him a full 360 degrees? Or when he hit wide receiver Terrell Owens so hard that it forced him onto the trainer’s bench? What about viciously laying out poor Brian Moorman, the punter for the Buffalo Bills, in the 2006 Pro Bowl? If not for his unfortunate murder in 2007, Taylor might have gone down as the most feared safety in NFL history. To this day, Gregg Williams, now the defensive coordinator of the Cleveland Browns but used to coach Taylor when they were both members of the Washington Redskins, calls Taylor “the greatest player he ever coached.”
