Jimmy Graham, TE, Seattle Seahawks
How many people realize that in 2017, Jimmy Graham is scheduled to earn more money ($7.9 million base salary) than Rob Gronkowski ($4.25M) and Greg Olsen ($6.25M), and is going to make more than double of Jordan Reed’s ($3.75M), and Travis Kelce’s ($2.7M) salaries? The Seahawks have not gotten the return on investment that they presumed they would be receiving when they traded a Pro Bowl center (Max Unger) and a first round draft pick to New Orleans for Graham. Between Graham’s previous salary history, as well as his history of injuries and dropped passes, there’s not a lot of incentive for Seattle to bring him back next year. Some team will likely end up overpaying for his services in free agency anyway, considering his contract is up after the 2017 season.
