Rookie Watch #2: Daniel Jones, 6th Pick
Jones looked like a bust in the making the second the Giants took him 6th overall. In fairness, he didn’t make the Giants make such a foolish decision. However, he’s the one that has to live up to that pick, and ultimately following in the footsteps of Eli Manning isn’t going to help either.
Jones might be a solid quarterback prospect, but he had an underwhelming college career at Duke. He completed less than 60% of his passes and averaged just 6.2 yards per attempt. Those numbers don’t exactly scream elite quarterback, which is part of the reason why few people think he’ll work out with the Giants.
Update: So far so good for the young signal caller! Let’s see if Jones can repeat in his Week 4 matchup against the Redskins.
