Eli Apple – CB
The New York Giants selected Eli Apple with the 10th overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft. Apple was a top prospect out of high school and eventually college as well. With the 10th fastest 40-yard dash at the combine, Apple had the rare speed and size (6’ 1”) coveted in the NFL.
After signing a four year deal in 2016 with a full $15.15 million guaranteed, Apple has yet to live up to his expectations. Apple has had numerous altercations with teammates and coaching staff that have even lead to suspensions. With only one interception in his career, the Giants may have missed out by selecting Apple over the likes of Keanu Neal. While Apple looked good in the Giants Week 1 matchup against the Jaguars, he has to prove he can play well for an extended stretch of time.
