Jonathan Papelbon was a tantalizing pitching talent, thanks to his above-average pitching velocity and deceptive breaking balls that fooled hitters. But, his abrasive personality basically helped him burn the bridge with every team he’s played for, to date. In 2014, he made an obscene gesture to Philadelphia fans, as a member of the Phillies, and then got into a confrontation with an umpire. One year later, he famously got into an argument with his new teammate, Bryce Harper of the Washington Nationals, which escalated into Papelbon choking Harper in the dugout.
