Bust #4: Sam Bradford (2008)
In 2008, University of Oklahoma quarterback Sam Bradford became the second-ever sophomore to win the Heisman Trophy, following Tim Tebow the year before, after leading his Sooners to a #1 ranking in the final BCS standings. Even after blowing out his knee the following year, Bradford was the #1 overall pick in the NFL Draft after he declared after his junior year.
But Bradford struggled with injuries, and developed a penchant for checking down passes way too early and easily. Throughout his nine-year NFL career, he’s always been seen as a middling starter at best.
