There are a lot of NFL Draft analysts who owe a major apology to rookie quarterback Justin Herbert of the Los Angeles Chargers. So many of them said that he’d be nowhere near ready to play as a rookie; they look comically wrong right about now.
How’s this for a start? On Sunday, Herbert became the only player since at least 1970 with 1,500+ pass yards and a 100+ passer rating over his first 5 career games. In the Chargers’ win over Jacksonville, Herbert finished with 347 yards passing plus 65 rushing yards, and four total touchdowns. He is on an absolute tear right now.
