It’s incredibly ironic that Jim Kelly wanted literally any team in the NFL, except the Buffalo Bills, to select him in the 1983 NFL Draft, and even escaped to the USFL for a couple of seasons just to avoid playing for the Bills (and in the miserable weather of Buffalo).

But the Miami boy not only — if not reluctantly — came to Buffalo, but would spend the entirety of his NFL career there, en route to becoming the franchise’s most beloved player.
As the orchestrator of Buffalo’s K-Gun offense, Kelly and the Bills would go on to play in four-straight Super Bowls, a feat that had never been accomplished, and still hasn’t been matched.
