In fairness to Carson Palmer, he was the rock that the resurrection of the Cincinnati Bengals in the early 2000’s was built upon. A laughingstock team for almost all of the 1990’s, Palmer led the Bengals to an 11-win season and division title in 2005.

But the bottom would eventually fall out in Cincinnati, and after a terrible 2010 season, in which the team won only four games, Palmer famously declared that he’d never step foot in Paul Brown stadium (home of the Bengals) ever again.
After initially refusing to grant him a trade, Cincinnati shipped him to the Oakland Raiders midway through the 2011 season, in exchange for 1st round pick.
