Quarterback Matt Cassell made a name for himself by filling in for the injured Tom Brady in 2008, and leading the New England Patriots to an 11-5 record. So when New England expatriate Scott Pioli became General Manager of the Kansas City Chiefs, he acquired Cassell to be his quarterback. Unfortunately, Cassell left virtually all of his good playing days back in Boston. In his playoff debut against the Baltimore Ravens, Cassell threw for only 70 yards, and was intercepted three times, in the Chiefs’ 30-7 loss at the hands of the Baltimore Ravens. When Andy Reid became the head coach in Kansas City two years later, he brought in Alex Smith to take over for Cassell.
