2009: Jake Delhomme, Carolina Panthers
After leading the Carolina Panthers to two playoff appearances in his first three years as a starter (including the franchise’s first Super Bowl appearance), quarterback Jake Delhomme struggled with mediocrity in the ensuing seasons. In the 2008 season, he did help the Panthers achieve and 12-4 record and return to the playoffs, only to be resoundingly dismissed by the Arizona Cardinals, losing 33-13. In that game, Delhomme threw five interceptions, and finished with a passer rating of 39.1. One year later, the Panthers parted ways with Delhomme.
