Needless to say, the end of Ray Rice’s professional career is probably the total opposite of how he wanted it to end. We won’t even get into the off-the-field stuff that’s essentially led to him being blackballed by the NFL. But in 2013, which ended up being the last season he played in the NFL, he ran for 660 yards on 214 carries, translating into a career-low 3.1 yards per carry. No running back in the NFL with more than 155 carries had that low of a number for average yards per attempt. It was the first time that Rice finished with less than 1,000 yards combined (rushing and receiving) since his rookie year.
