After registering a blistering time of 4.24 seconds in the 40 yard dash at the 2008 NFL Combine, running back Chris Johnson was selected in the first round of the NFL Draft by the Tennessee Titans, and ran for over 1,200 yards in each of his first three seasons in the league. But after holding out for a new contract prior to the 2011 season, Johnson wasn’t in peak condition after returning to the team after said holdout — and it showed. While he still ran for 1,047 yards (and only four touchdowns), the advanced analytics show that Johnson was the worst running back that year among all runners with more than 170 carries.
