13. Muhammad Wilkerson, DL, Jets — $22 million
Coming off a season where he earned his first Pro Bowl selection and was named to the NFL’s All-Pro Team, the New York Jets signed Muhammad Wilkerson to a five-year deal worth $86 million. Wilkerson’s massive deal includes $53 million guaranteed and a $15 million signing bonus. In the first year of that deal, Wilkerson will earn a whopping $22 million, making him the third highest-paid defensive lineman in the NFL. Unfortunately, Wilkerson has turned into a bit of a “problem child” in New York, making things worse for the underperforming Jets.
