As one of the premier young pass rushers to hit the free agent market, the New York Giants signed defensive end Olivier Vernon to a 5-year deal worth $85 million. Vernon will be earning $29 million this season, which is more than any other defensive player in the NFL. Vernon also tacks on another $200,000 per year thanks to an endorsement deal with Under Armour. That’s a pretty nice chunk of change for a guy most NFL fans wouldn’t recognize if he were walking down the street.
