In 2013, Colin Kaepernick followed up leading the San Francisco 49ers to the Super Bowl in the 2012 season by taking the team to the NFC Championship game in 2013. At that point, he was already being heralded as the next great superstar quarterback in the NFL, and was rewarded with a six-year, $114 contract. Since then, over the next three seasons, Kaepernick has won a grand total of 12 games that he’s appeared under center for San Francisco. He eventually lost his starting job to journeyman Blaine Gabbert.
