When someone stands 6-foot-6 and weighs only a few biscuits under 300lbs, baseball is somewhere near the bottom of the list of sports options you’d think that individual would play. But Carsten Charles Sabathia Jr., better known as CC Sabathia, turned down the chance to become a college football player (he received multiple scholarships), and eventually became a six-time All-Star pitcher in the major leagues. He won the Cy Young award in 2007 as a member of the Cleveland Indians, and the MVP award in 2009 as a member of the New York Yankees.
