Boston’s original big 3 of Bill Russell, Bob Havlicek and Bob Cousy led the Celtics to an NBA title in 1963. Cousy left the team following the season to begin a career as a coach at Boston College. If only he had stayed, he could have enjoyed six more NBA titles with Russell and Havlicek. In their one season together, Boston won 55 games under famous coach Red Auerbach. Russell scored 16.8 ppg, while Cousy record 6.7 assists each night. If the trio had been together longer, they would be considered the greatest trio of all-time. However, as it stands they were a good trio, while Russell and Havlicek were a great duo.
