Dan Marino only made it to the Super Bowl one time, in 1984. He might have gone 15 straight years after that without playing in a Super Bowl. Yet, he still ranks near the top of the list — if not at the very top — when you have the conversation about “greatest quarterbacks to never win a Super Bowl.” Marino basically did everything else you could ask for from your quarterback. He took the Dolphins to 12 playoff appearances in 17 years.

He broke the NFL’s single-season passing record in only his second year in the NFL. He led the league in passing five times, was named to the All-Pro team seven times, and selected to the Pro Bowl nine times. The one and only accolade he doesn’t have on his Hall-of-Fame résumé is Super Bowl champion.
