Carlos Hyde, Running Back, San Francisco 49ers
Carlos Hyde just seems like one of those players who everyone thinks is a really good player, despite little supporting evidence. He’s never played in all 16 games (missing 14 games over the past three years), he’s never had more than six rushing touchdowns in a given season (he had a grand total of seven rushing touchdowns in his first two seasons), and he’s never hit the thousand-yard mark in rushing (he had less than 500 yards rushing in his first two seasons). General Manager John Lynch and Head Coach Shanahan didn’t acquire running backs Tim Hightower (whom Shanahan coached back in Washington) and Joe Williams (their third round pick in the 2017 NFL Draft) to simply fill roster spots; they could very likely push Hyde for carries, if not out a job outright.
