From the moment he entered the league, back when he was still known as Ron Artest, the 6’7 forward was already one of the strongest guys in the league. Between his combination of strength, tenacity, and aggressiveness, he quickly earned the reputation of being one of the toughest players in the NBA, and someone opposing players loathed played against (74 career technical fouls!). He ended his career having won the Defensive Player of the Year (in 2004), with four selections to NBA All-Defensive Teams (first or second). Since retiring Artest has gotten back into boxing — a sport he dominated when he was a teenager (his father was a former Golden Gloves Champion)
