When legendary coach Paul Brown was organizing the Cleveland Browns to play in the new All-American Football Conference (AAFC), the first player he signed was Otto Graham. From 1946 to 1955, Otto Graham absolutely dominated football. During his 10 year career (all with the Browns) Graham lead the Browns to 4 AAFC Championships and 3 NFL Championships. In addition to winning championships in 70% of the seasons he played, Graham was named the league MVP three times.

Funny enough, Brown was “discovered” while playing intramural football as a freshman at Northwestern University. His sport of choice at the time was basketball.
