Sean May (North Carolina)
May was a bruising post player during his three seasons at Chapel Hill (2002-2005). In his junior season, he was named Most Outstanding Player of the 2005 NCAA tournament after leading North Carolina with 26 points and 10 rebounds, in their title game victory over Illinois… After his stellar career at UNC, the Charlotte Bobcats selected May with the 13th-overall pick in the 2005 NBA draft. Although we said players with injuries wouldn’t be included on this list, May is the exception, because it’s believed his injuries were caused by weight issues. Apparently, paying someone millions of dollars to play basketball isn’t enough motivation to stay in shape.
From 2005 to 2010, May played in a total of 119 NBA games, averaging 6.9 ppg and 4.0 rpg. He has played in various international leagues over the past six years, and runs his own food blog.
