Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel was one of the most famous — and infamous — football players in the country in 2013, after becoming the first freshman in college football history to win the Davey O’Brien trophy (given to the nation’s top quarterback) and the Heisman Trophy. In an offseason filled with controversy around his hard-partying ways, Manziel’s eligibility came under question when reports surfaced that he had signed autographs for money in January 2013. After it was concluded that he didn’t receive any money for this, Texas A&M suspended Manziel for the first half of the team’s 2013 season opener against Rice University.
