In 2005, Reggie Bush had one of the greatest seasons by any college football player in the history of the NCAA, playing for his University of Southern California Trojans. He won the Heisman Trophy that year, in one of the most lopsided votes ever. But the following the season, reports surfaced raising questions about whether Bush’s family received gifts in violation of NCAA policies, especially after sports agent Lloyd Lake sued Bush and his family in November 2007 for not repaying over $290,000 in gifts. The NCAA confirmed that Bush had received lavish gifts from Lake and his business partner, forcing Bush to vacate his Heisman Trophy, and the Trojans to vacate all of their wins from the 2005 season.
