After finishing his sophomore season at Oklahoma State University with 87 receptions for 1,480 yards and 21 (total) touchdowns, wide receiver Dez Bryant was considered an early favorite for the Heisman Trophy as a junior. Three games into the season, he was on pace for another brilliant year, before an in-season meeting with former Dallas Cowboys great Deion Sanders led things astray. Bryant was ruled ineligible for the rest of the 2009 season on October 7 for violating an NCAA bylaw, because he failed to fully disclose his interaction with Sanders (after lying about meeting with Sanders in the first place).
