This game is considered one of the greatest upsets in college basketball history; for reference, it remains the fourth biggest point-spread upset in championship game history. North Carolina State entered the 1983 tournament as a #6 seed. But the Wolf Pack, led by famed head coach Jim Valvano, pulled off the inconceivable upset over the the University of Houston Cougars, and their famed “Phi Slamma Jamma” lineup that included NBA Hall of Famers Hakeem Olajuwon and Clyde Drexler.
