During the 2009-2010 season, Georgetown University was a bit of a Jekyll-and-Hyde team. They could go toe-to-toe with the best teams in the nation, as evidenced by their regular season wins over Syracuse and Duke, who were given #1 seeds in the 2010 NCAA Tournament. But they also had a nasty propensity to “play down” to the level of their opponents. That was evident when they lost to the 14th-seeded Ohio University Bobcats, who finished in the bottom half of the Mid-American Conference standings. It also didn’t help that the #3 seed Hoyas turned the ball over 18 times in their loss.
