Brian Cardinal, Mavericks (2011)
Here are some of the lowlights of Brian Cardinal’s career: In college, his nickname was “the Custodian”, due to the way he cleaned the floor diving for loose balls. Less than three years after being drafted by the Detroit Pistons, he was out of the NBA. In 2010, he was traded away by the Minnesota Timberwolves, so they could acquire Darko Miličić. And yet, during his final NBA stop, with the Dallas Mavericks, he erased all of those lowlights by being a member of the 2011 Mavericks team that defeated LeBron James and the Miami Heat.
During the playoffs, Cardinal averaged 1.1 points per game to go with 0.3 rebounds per game, in 37 minutes of game action. Throughout his 11 seasons in the NBA, Cardinal started just 37 of a possible 902 games.
