The crown jewel of the infamous 1985 NBA Draft (which was fraught with allegations that the lottery was rigged in favor of the New York Knicks), Patrick Ewing helped lead the Knicks to 13 straight playoff appearances during his 15 years as a member of the team. The 11-time All-star and nine-time member of the NBA’s All-Defensive team retired in 2002, and immediately began the next phase of his career as an NBA coach, working as an assistant with Washington, Houston, Orlando, and Charlotte. In 2017, Ewing was named the head coach of the men’s basketball team at Georgetown University, his alma mater.
