Here’s a textbook definition of the term “irony”: Adam Morrison was one of the best players in college basketball from the moment he arrived at Gonzaga University in 2003, but he never led his Bulldogs to even a Final Four appearance (let alone a national title). After being taken with the third overall pick in the 2006 NBA Draft, Morrison ended up being one of the worst players in the NBA, and yet finished his NBA career with two NBA Championship wins. Morrison had the good fortune of being traded to the Los Angeles Lakers midway through the 2009 season, and got to ride the coattails of Kobe Bryant’s dominance.
