Rasho Nesterovic, Spurs (2005)
If you Google Radislav “Rasho” Nesterovic, you’ll undoubtedly come up with a slew of results about ESPN “analyst” (if you want to call him that) Stephen A. Smith ranting and raving — as he’s always apt to do — about how Nesterovic is a “scrub.” Nobody is going to confuse Nesterovic with Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (that’s probably the only time you’ll ever read those two names in the same sentence), but what those two guys do have in common, no matter how much Smith might hate admitting such a fact, is that they were NBA champions.
During the Spurs title run, Nesterovic contributed just 0.7 points and 1.7 rebounds per game, in his seven minutes of action. He played in nine playoff games the following season and “significantly” improved his points per game average from 0.7 all the way to 2.81.
