Sheldon Richardson, Defensive Lineman, Seattle Seahawks
A lot of people believed Sheldon Richardson made the already formidable defense of the Seattle Seahawks defense even better, and that still may prove to be true. But in reality, Richardson could end up being nothing more than a one-year rental for the Seahawks. Seattle acquired Richardson’s services in exchange for a second round pick, as well as wide receiver Jermaine Kearse (who found himself on the outs of the logjam of receivers for the Seahawks). So while the Seahawks did invest a significant price in acquiring Richardson, he’ll be a free agent at the end of this season. If he plays well for the Seahawks, they would likely bring him back. But if he contract demands get out of hands, Seattle will likely be wary paying that much for a player who’s always been dogged by questions of an inconsistent work ethic on game day.
