When Michael Sweetney came out of Georgetown University in 2003, he was a 6-foot-8, 260 pound power forward with a soft touch. Coming out of a school that produced legendary big men like Patrick Ewing, Alonzo Mourning, and Dikembe Mutombo — scouts had high hopes for “Big Mike.” But five seasons later, he was already on his way out of the NBA. Sweetney was stuck riding the bench for his second NBA employer (the Chicago Bulls) after his weight shot up over 400 pounds. He was out of the NBA by 2008. After playing overseas, and in the NBA development league between 2009 and 2011, he had a (disappointing) tryout with the Boston Celtics, where he was said to weigh 450 pounds (photo above).
