Oliver Miller
No player in NBA history was known more for his obesity than his basketball skills. Even though Miller was already close to 300 pounds in college, he was still taken in the first round of the NBA draft. He did have one season where he averaged just under 13 points and 7 rebounds per game, but issues with his weight greatly overshadowed whatever he did on the court. He ballooned up to 323 pounds at one point in his career, seriously reducing his mobility and stamina.
At one point, he even checked into a food rehab program. As if there wasn’t enough to talk about when it came to his weight: he was accused of assaulting a man in April of 2011… at a barbecue cookout, of all places. One can only speculate the reason — perhaps the man cut ahead of Miller in the buffet line…?
