With a nickname like “Tractor,” Robert Traylor was never a small man. He had a little bit of “Baby Shaq” to his game, standing 6-foot-8 and over 300 pounds, with the agility and strength to break backboards while he played at the University of Michigan. In the 1998 NBA Draft, the Dallas Mavericks selected Traylor with the sixth overall pick, but then traded him to the Milwaukee Bucks for Pat Garrity, and a mysterious German prospect named Dirk Nowitzki.

I’ll let you decide who got the better end of that deal. Traylor battled health and weight problems throughout his career, and he was out of the NBA by 2005. Sadly, in 2011, Traylor died of an apparent heart attack. RIP Tractor…
