2. Jimmy Clausen (Notre Dame)
As the younger brother of two former Division I quarterbacks, Jimmy Clausen started getting recruited as an underclassman in high school. Leading up to signing day in 2006, Clausen’s recruitment was one of the most publicized, intense, and ridiculous affairs college football had ever seen. But not everyone was high on Clausen, some suspected he might be overrated because of the talent he played with in high school, and his less-than-spectacular performances in all star games. Even with that, Clausen arrived in a stretch hummer limousine, and held a press conference for his oral commitment at the College Football Hall of Fame. Even though he ended up playing at nearby Notre Dame, he definitely won’t find himself enshrined in said hall, after going 16-21 in three years (and leaving school early).
