The 2015-2016 season was an ugly one for Louisville and head coach Rick Pitino. Because of a scandal involving allegations that a former assistant paid an escort service to entertain recruits, the school banned itself from competing in the NCAA tournament. Scandal or not, coach Pitino still earned a whopping $6,004,529 this year. In 2013, Pitino became the first NCAA Division I coach in history to win a championship with two different schools (Kentucky in 1996).
